Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on the 18th of November 1985 in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix demonstrated a talent in athletics from the beginning, and soon discovered her ability to sprint while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first tryout she came in second place in the 200 meters at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was signed to an official career at Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics held which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. Felix became the world's youngest athlete to win the 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top third of each event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
